Richard Hall

A Documented History of UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters & Coverups

Richard Hall

cover UNINVITED GUESTS - Richard HallThis is not a book of answers because nobody on any side of the issue really knows what UFOs are. Instead it is a book of questions starting with . . . What if UFOs are real? What might this mean for Humankind?

  • Do UFOs represent “nuts and bolts” craft piloted by sentient beings from other civilizations in space?
  • Are they visitors from another planet?
  • Are they human-like or human time travelers or beings from some other realm presently unknown to science?

Recognition of this could profoundly alter our understanding of the universe and our outlook on life. The analyses and speculations are intended to encourage thought and discussion. The concepts explored here need to be critically examined and measured against the still unfolding UFO manifestation. Meanwhile we need to know what has been credibly reported, what possible explanations there are, and what it might all mean. Why did the CIA run a security clearance on this author without his knowledge or consent? The contents of UFO reports have become increasingly bizarre: stories of alien creatures abducting humans and subjecting them to physical examinations have multiplied. The beings who sometimes appear more like apparitions than solid entities, display almost magical powers, including levitation, telepathy, movement through solid matter, and cause electrical malfunctions. Even if the abduction reports are imaginary, why would intelligent beings repeatedly hover over installations and then dart away, for no apparent purpose? Why would they buzz human vehicles, take soil samples and all the other repetitive actions year after year without doing something to remove all doubt about their nature and purpose? Why do they continue to dazzle us with exotic displays but not make open contact or whole communicate something definite to us?

In 1965, Richard Hall, then Acting Director of a civilian UFO group in Washington, D.C., was questioned by a CIA agent and given a direct telephone line to his office using it to report some high quality UFO sightings, as requested. Many years later he used the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts to request CIA files mentioning him by name. Some previously known documents were obtained after an appeal, but the CIA refused to release the security clearance “paper trail.”

“In 1964, Richard Hall assembled the important UFO Evidence then available into a book entitled, aptly and simply, The UFO Evidence. The clarity and thoroughness Hall displayed in this seminal work are at the heart of his new book Uninvited Guests. His writing is cool and objective, yet its effect is ultimately chilling. Uninvited Guests is the most comprehensive book yet written on the subject of UFOs, by one of our most senior and most respected investigators.”

—Bud Hopkins, author: Intruders Among Us

“Richard Hall is a living legend in UFOlogy, having been a public figure as long as 30 years ago. Drawing upon his broad knowledge of the field he has (finally!) written a book which sets forth his opinion of the subject. Twenty-five years ago he edited a classic of the UFO literature, The UFO Evidence, which was published by the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena. This new effort clearly draws upon his experience gained in compiling the evidence, but it goes far beyond that, providing a perspective that could only come from a veteran UFOlogist.”

Chairman of the Fund for UFO Research

“The present work is the culmination of a lifetime of careful, open-minded questioning in an area that has been studiously avoided by many who are unwilling to explore beyond the narrow boundaries of their prejudices. Reading this book will take the reader through a stimulating intellectual exploration of the ideas and data that relate to the contemporary UFO mystery in all of its bewildering complexity. The potential significance is awe inspiring and I am left with the feeling of standing right at the threshold.”
